I hope everyone has a maaaahvelous Labor Day. I hope the weather holds up - I'd really like to sit by the pool later. Right now I am drinking coffee and contemplating my first actions of the day. I am going to start sifting through the mounds of things in the living room and getting this apartment organized.
I woke up this morning to a deep husky voice in the room next door. I thought Meredith had woken up with some mad laryngitis but it was actually Raines. I realized this when I went to the bathroom and heard two voices, but just to be sure Meredith hadn't gotten possessed and was speaking in voices, I knocked on the door. (Just so it doesn't sound sketchy or gossip-worthy, Raines had actually just come over this morning and was hanging out, he had not spent the night.) They left just now on some adventure.
I went to Black Walnut Cafe last night and then Gingerman. When I got to Black Walnut the kitchen had closed - I was so hungry - but I got a nice big Shiner Bock and that filled me up. Then Hana and I went over to G-man and sat and talked for two straight hours about viola and life. I had a Pilsner Urquell there, but honestly I think it tastes better from the bottle than draught. Needless to say, I was a little toasty even from those two beers because I hadn't eaten! I'm glad we sat and talked for so long because then I was able to not be wobbly on the bike ride home.
A certain cat didn't want me to sleep in this morning. She kept sitting on me and licking me and poking my face. So I got up, and now she's curled up at my feet asleep! I should do the same thing back to her, save for the sitting-on part. And probably the licking too. Last night before I left I couldn't find my wallet and I got scared that it had gotten stolen from a practice room at school and I just hadn't noticed. But Pemberton was sitting on it. She's pretty big, so no wonder I saw no trace of it. I'm glad I thought to look under her!
