KUNG FU TRAILERS OF FURY (2016) ***

Kung Fu Trailers of Fury is two solid hours chockfull of chopsocky trailers. That in itself is enough for me to give the film ***. However, as a connoisseur of trailer compilations, I have to get a few caveats out of the way. First of all, like I said, it’s two hours. It’s good at that length, but I imagine it would’ve been great at 90 minutes. As with most of these things, there are almost as many awesome trailers as there are clunkers. If someone had bothered to reel in the running time a bit and cut out a couple of the duds, it would’ve saved us all a little time. Also, the sheer length of some of the trailers is outrageous. Some go on for almost three or four minutes, which would be one thing if they were wall-to-wall action, but they aren’t.

That’s where the complaints end. There are enough awesome trailers here to make it worth picking up. I also liked that there was a good mix of well-known classics and obscure stuff. We get some cool trailers for films starring such legends as Jackie Chan (Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow), Bruce Lee (Way of the Dragon), Sammo Hung (Enter the Fat Dragon), and Bruce Le (Bruce Le’s Greatest Revenge). Some of the best ones though are the random trailers for something like Chinese Kung Fu Against Godfather, which contains my favorite tagline of all of the trailers in the compilation: “Chinese Bumpkin Wreaks Havoc in Europe!”
