GOD DAMN! How many of these Hot Line “features” are there? (I say “features” because they’re nothing more than three episodes of the Skinamax TV show edited together.)
In “Hung Jury” (***), a chick on a jury gets the hots for one of the other jurors and they bone. He wants to keep seeing her after the trial, but she tells him it will never work because she’s engaged. When it comes to time for the jury to deliberate, he casts the only “Not Guilty” vote just to spend more time with her.
This is a really fun episode. Even the title alone will make you laugh out loud. The sex scenes (four Guy on Girl scenes) are decent and I liked the interaction between the two leads. In short, this is the kind of Skinamax entertainment I crave.
“The Sitter” (**) is next and it’s all about a shy college student who takes a job housesitting for a Mob boss so he can spend more time studying. When the mobster’s hot daughter shows up to stay the weekend, the college kid finds it difficult to get his work done, what with her penchant for taking showers and/or walking around with hardly any clothes on. Eventually, they fall in love and her dad surprisingly enough approves.
This episode was directed by Rob Spera, the guy who did Leprechaun in the Hood. That doesn’t mean it’s very good though. It’s one of those slow burn kind of episodes where the guy and the girl have to fight their attraction for one another for just about the entire running time. Vanessa Dorian is sexy as the gangster’s daughter, but the sex scenes aren’t especially titillating (two Guy on Girl scenes and one Shower scene) and the ending doesn’t have much of a payoff.
“E-Mail” (** ½) is about feuding co-workers who are at each other’s throats. Each of them is also involved in writing sexy e-mails to an anonymous sender. Of course, they don’t realize they’re actually cybering with each other.
So basically it’s a Skinamax version of Shop Around the Corner. E-Mail is notable for having a black cast, but other than that, it’s pretty standard stuff. The likeable performances help, but ultimately the sex scenes (three Guy on Girl scenes) are far too short to make it really worth your time. There are definitely worse Hot Line episodes out there though; that’s for sure.
