Here is a quick summary of one of the craziest weekends of my life:
This weekend has been bitter sweet. I am glad that school is over and I have all of this free time but some crazy stuff has happened...
Friday was good I chilled did some chores and relaxed and then at night went to Stephanie Schneider's sweet sixteen, it was so unique-Steph did this cool belly dance...i could have never done the stuf she did-i wish all of you could have seen it. I danced of course and showed all the kids some real moves-LOL! Next door in another salon Adolfo (UBD guy) was at a party...it was good to see him I hadn't talked to him in a while. Over all I had a great day.
Saturday I was helping my mom around the house and then around six (while i was getting ready for a sleepover party with the church girls) she was like...I'm going to cook-everyone in my house was shocked because my mom NEVER and I mean NEVER cooks. Dinner was just done and we were getting ready to eat before I had to go to the party when the phone rings....my Abuelo was on the phone...he was paniced and out of breathe and said in spanish-they robbed me everything is gone-they robbed me.
Everyone jumped in the car before they could taste a bite of my moms food (which was probably a wise thing to do-theres a reason why we only ask my mom to cook a few times a year-LOL!) and we drove to Miami Lakes to comfort my grabdparents. Four cops were looking all over the house-closets were a mess and my abuelo was in shock. No one cared about all that was taken-even though they did take a lot...we were all upset at the thought that someone came into our house and that we had a false sense of security. My grandparents had two alarms, a fence, a safe, locks on important things-they took all the precautions but it still wasn't enough. I guess they felt like all this time they thought they were totally protected and then they were hit with the fact that all this time they werent safe at all.
Sunday-Today we spent the entire day cleaning the house, there was dust, glass, clothes, boxes, and papers everywhere....it was hard for everyone to realize that this actually happened...it is hitting us all slowly.
I would appreciate any prayers for my abuelo and abuela-just pray that they will feel safe in their home and that they know that everything happens for a reason. It is so important that they understand that.
Thanks!
Vicki
