Dear Yuletide Writer:

I will be happy with any story set within the worlds I requested, because I love the details and specificity and strangeness of them all.  If you want story style specifics, I like slash and gen equally, a little h/c is nice, with characters who care about each other but have lives outside of just each other.  For negatives, I’m not fond of depressing for the sake of being ‘edgy’, pointless death, bdsm, or characters abusing each other.  But anything set in the world of the book will make me very happy!

The Interior Life by Katherine Blake

If you’ve read this book and offered it, then you probably know why it is so amazing.  There are so many places to go with a story that I hesitate to offer any suggestions as they would be limiting.  I listed Amalia and Aumery rather than any of the other characters, even though I love them all, because they actually have the most interesting lives, past and future.  But I would devour anything at all written in this universe, about anybody!  And Sue! How does her future life - grown kids, Fred’s career, the people in her town - mirror or develop what goes on with Amalia?  Feel free to speculate!

Old Kingdom - Garth Nix

Another big and strange world to wander in.  I’ve limited it to Nicholas and Lirael because they are two fish out of water in their own ways and I want to see how they adapt, both to each other and their implied relationship, and to the new worlds opening to them.  Nick  (and Sabriel - feel free to include any other characters if you want, oh and Sam) are the characters who know both worlds on both sides of the Wall; I would love to see him explore this with Lirael.

Points - Melissa Scott and Lisa Barnett

Yet another interesting world with two characters I love to explore it.  Nicholas and Philip have had somewhat hard lives and are trying to make their way, and I don’t see their relationship as being totally smooth.  Plus, Nicholas’ job and the dangers and mysteries he runs into make for entanglements.  But mostly I think of the comfort they afford each other.
