Day 12 - Least Favorite Episode

Already discussed here.

Day 13 - Favorite Potential Slayer

Sometimes I feel like an anomaly: I didn't hate Kennedy. I didn't hate Rona. In fact, I didn't hate any of the Potentials (though I do wish our main characters got more screentime in Season 7). Now, which one is my favorite?

Well, I like Vi for she is Felicia ( Read more... )

I guess you're right. Like I said, it's been a while since I've seen season 7, and I've always found it difficult to adjust my feelings about someone after the first impression.

I started reading through the Buffyverse Dialogue Database to be able to give a better argumented response, and that's when I found this:

Willow: Yeah, well you might have to keep me stab-ded if I go to the bad place.
Kennedy: You're saying I might have to kill you?
Willow: I am.
Kennedy: Bite me.
Willow: I will. I mean, I do. Mean it. The darkest place I've ever been? This is what lies beyond that. This is too important for me.
Kennedy: Buffy believes in you.
Willow: You know Buffy? Sweet girl, not that bright.
Kennedy: Hey, I'm the first one to call her out when she's not making sense. In fact, this may have escaped your keen notice but I'm kind of a brat. I've always sort of gotten my way. So you're going to make it through this no matter how dark it gets. Because now, you're my way.

Here, she's pretty awesome and supportive.

I guess coming into the fandom being a Willow/Tara shipper (I started reading Willow/Tara fanfic after seeing a couple of episodes from season 5 & 6; only years after did I watch the entire series), it was kind of hard to be able to accept anyone else. Add to that that I, as a person, would never be friends with Kennedy, as a person, and it's kind of hard to see past the first impressions I got of her.

Am I still making any sense?

Perfect sense. :-) And yes, that scene you quoted was what I was remembering when I said Kennedy by the end of the season was very supportive.

I, as a person, would never be friends with Kennedy, as a person

I suspect part of the reason I like Kennedy is because I'm the opposite; she reminds me a lot of someone who's been a good friend of mine for a long time. :-)

Kennedy's sarcastic and blunt, and if she's angry with you she won't try to hide it; but I never got the impression she's malicious or cruel. She just says what she thinks, whether it's good or bad.

She definitely is not malicious or cruel. She is just very confident, and not afraid to speak her mind. Which are abilities that I admire, but that I'm also a little afraid of.
