WHO: Vanessa and Emi
WHERE: Downtown Abaton (Starducks and beyond)
WHEN: September 8th, during attic cleaning (Backdated)
WHY: Emi and Vanessa are too cool for cleaning duty.
FORMAT: Paragraph
Vanessa's idea of cleaning was leaving it for someone else to do. That's why janitors and maids existed. She wasn't about to ruin her new manicure over attic grime just because Principal Ivors was a cheapskate. After she'd finished reading the email the night before, Vanessa simply marked it as spam and moved it to her trash bin. That took care of that.
The following morning, Vanessa had been woken up by the sounds of her roommate moving around, presumably to go participate in this so-called mandatory cleaning spree. She'd hunkered under the covers, pretending to be in a very deep sleep, until Lynne had left, then got up to start her day. After taking a shower and picking out her outfit, a slinky, sleeveless black dress with a modest skirt that came down four inches above her knees and a pair of matching strap sandals with heels, she finished putting on her makeup and styling her hair. It was well after eleven before Vanessa finished getting ready. She'd had to find her black leather handbag and shimmery black-and-gold scarf, after all. No respectable woman went anywhere without proper accessories.
After leaving campus without so much as a second glance at the dorms, Vanessa sashayed down the street as if she were on a runway instead of a city sidewalk, curls bouncing with each step. It wasn't until she was halfway to Starducks that she began to wonder if maybe she should have put on something a little warmer. It wasn't exactly chilly but it was autumn. Oh, well, she'd be inside a cozy coffee shop soon enough and could relax.
Once inside, she waltzed up to the counter and ordered a double mocha capuccino and a banana nut muffin. After she'd been served, she looked around for somewhere to sit and settle in until mandatory cleaning blew over and it was safe to go back to campus.
