[Ryuunosuke is not smiling for once. He seems to be laying back in his bed with a gloomy expression.]Hey, Prospero. I'm bored, so you get to hear me talk about stuff that isn't important. Sound good ( Read more... )

[Oh, it's one of the people he thinks is cool. He brightens up a little.]

Suits you way better than something silly like a dove.

I know, I was just going with the bird metaphors. Birds that are like lions, uuuum. Not that I can think of? Lions aren't really flightworthy.

The next time I try to make an extended metaphor for types of people, you get to be a lion.

...that's definitely some metaphor.

[Actually he's just pinged by the possibility that the 'Saber' he knows was mentioned.]

I've thought of better ones in my day.

Shouldn't lion or some other predators fit as well?

Didn't you hear me say we were staying with the bird metaphors? There are a lot of animals out there and it would take forever to find the right one.

Well, Saber gets to be a lion next time, because she asked nicely and I like her.

Hmm... playing around with the metaphor s'more, wouldn't the people you mentioned be more like a hawk or a falcon than a swan? I've never seen a swan outside of still images, but I can't imagine they're all that dangerous.

No, I've seen swans in person more than once. Swans can be scary and dangerous, for birds.

[So much disbelief. SO. MUCH.] What? Get outta here. They don't even have talons, I thought. Heck, they didn't even look all that suited for flight.

Swans are incredibly aggressive. They don't have talons, but their bite is nasty and they can and will drown whatever they're attacking.

Comparing people to animals never really had much insight to me. It's just an easy way to get away with your problems!

I'm not really trying to get away with anything here.

[What's she on about, anyway?]

And yet in the end it doesn't matter what kind of bird it is, they do the same thing. They squawk and make a spectacle of themselves and shit everywhere. It doesn't matter how beautiful they are outside, they're all equally ugly inside and in what they are.

Which is why they're such an appropriate metaphor for people.
