Before I arrived here, I had made the decision to stay in a place that would mean the end of my life. It had been my choice, and a choice I would make again. While I can't speak to your family dilemma since my world is from the future of this time period, I just want to say that you should not start on the 'what if's'. They wont solve anything.

We know that people are from different worlds and times, and slowly each month apparently we are given a different 'test' to complete in addition to the monsters in the Dark Hour.
