Lillian was running a little late. It wasn't like this was a date but she hadn't been able to resist fussing over her appearance a little. Was this the kind of thing normal teenage girls dwelled on? It was refreshing after months of fretting over everyone's mortality, especially her own, to think about something as mundane as how one dressed.

They were just running an errand for Principal Ivors but she still wanted to look nice. She'd put on a long, sleeved dark purple velour dress trimmed with black lace around the collar and cuffs, an amethyst pendant. Lillian had opted to put her hair up in an elegant twist, leaving a few curls to trail down around her face. The dress was shorter than what she normally wore this time of year, the hem reaching several inches above her knee, but she wore black tights underneath it so she didn't get too cold. She'd taken care to pick black shoes that didn't clash too much with the rest of her outfit but she could run in if she needed to.

Simply put, Lillian wasn't taking any chances.

The atmosphere seemed oddly tense when she arrived at the designated meeting place but she remained as outwardly serene as ever.

"Hello," she greeted quietly.

Lester thought he heard someone say something beyond his headphones. So he turned around and oh, there was Lilly! He wondered when the others were going to show up before he waved at her.

"Hello Lilly." He then turned to point at the box in Oscar's hand. "He has a box."

"So he does!" Lillian said, following the direction Lester pointed in. She studied the box with mild disinterest. It was just a box, after all. There didn't seem to be anything special about it. At least, nothing worth commenting on just yet. Still, she forced herself to give it a second look.

"Good evening, Mr. Ivors," she greeted without looking away from the box.

That was a dramatic entrance if he had ever seen one. Despite the obvious persecution in the undertones of what Lawrence was saying to him, Oscar couldn't help but grin from ear to ear. He was amused, not at all bothered. "I don't believe I've ever provided anyone with false information, Mr. Bright, nor have I directly put you through any hell." The principal left it at that, very willing to continue denying with half truths for as long as he needed to. And they feigned disinterest in the box, so there really wasn't anything more for him to say. No information would be gotten from him like that.

Rather than egg on anything else, he waved to Lillian, shifting the box in his hand carefully. "Good evening, Ms. Taylor. Do you have any idea where the rest of you are? They're starting to run a bit late."

As if on cue, Lynne came out the dormitory doors. "Hey, sorry I'm late..."

She was only a little late but based on a quick look, not everyone was there yet. When her eyes fell on Oscar and the box, her eyes narrowed subtly for a briefest moment before she collected herself. Artemis had enough disdain for her behalf.

Lawrence noticed Lynne's arrival and tried not to allow it to disrupt his bravado. He glared at Oscar. There was no way he was letting him off so easily after all he'd been through.

"What a fitting explanation for you, and a convenient scapegoat at that. Unfortunately I must inform you that you did, in fact, supply me with some very false and pointless information that led me through a series of particularly unfortunate encounters," he paused, his gaze drifting towards Lilly and monitoring whether or not she was put off by his antagonistic tone. She didn't seem to be. That was good. He went on, "and though you did not directly place me into any hell, you were most certainly indirectly responsible for all of my misfortune over the last week or so! You will give us answers here and now. Why did you have me spy on these people? To what end were you attempting to use me?"

By now, Lawrence had completely forgotten he was speaking to an authority figure. No, he most likely knew. It was more like his disillusionment with Oscar had reached such levels that he no longer chose to associate this man with such a position.

He didn't really care about the consequences. He knew what's done is done. He just hoped this yielded some sort of answer... and that someone else would back him up very soon.

Lillian didn't look the least bit perturbed by her boyfriend's speech. After all, she wanted to know the answer to these questions, too, and it wasn't as if there was any love lost between her and the principal. What reason did she have to intervene? Principal Ivors seemed more than capable of defending himself in a verbal sparring match if he chose to.

Instead, she answered Principal Ivor's question.

"I'm not sure where everyone is but I'll make some calls." And with that, she pulled out her cell phone and proceeded to call Heather, Emi, and the rest of the group, turning her back on the principal and whatever plight he'd brought on himself.

Though Lawrence was settled into his accusations and the others looked none to happy, Oscar's expression didn't change. He didn't try to look innocent, though he did remain calm and looked more amused as the boy kept going. "And what exactly was the false information that I gave you?" He challenged, wondering what he would come up with. "I don't remember ever lying about anything. I was worried and you were never in any real danger, were you?"

His response was simple, but he stopped there for now. Though he would've happily just sent them off at that moment to drop the subject, and to make them not late, he decided to wait a bit more just so Lillian could complete her calls. And really, the principal had hoped to leave the box in the hands of a student he could trust would have a serious moral dilemma about opening it before they arrived at the zoo. Basically, Heather. He would give it five more minutes.

It didn't take long for Heather to arrive at the scene after Lillian's call, looking.. quite out of breath, as if she just ran all the way down the stairs as fast as she could. Her head is rather red because of that too, and maybe from some slight embarassment as well, knowing Heather and her shyness.

"S.. sorry for being late..! I can u-u-understand if you won't forgive me, sir, but at least accept my humble apologies.." She started speaking rather fast, probably out of general embarassment and shyness as well, even though she didn't dare to look Oscar directly in the eyes even as she spoke. Then she gave a quick nod towards Lillian, as if to thank her about the phone call.

Heather's arrival was something Lawrence pushed out of his mind completely. The look on his face could only be described as one of absolute fury. That... that unbelievable bastard. He was just playing with him again, wasn't he? No, Lawrence could sense something more...

Something like he was stalling for time.

That's just fine. Lawrence thought. If I can't get any straight answers out of him, I can at least create enough doubt so as to stop others from trusting him blindly like I did...

He scoffed. "If I recall correctly, you mentioned that the study group was up to 'no good' and that I should keep my eye on them. I did exactly that, and through much investigation I came to discover that they weren't the ones that were up to no good. The person who was, however, was you. Oh, I'm sure you were quite concerned, weren't you? Like how you were concerned when you sent the rest of them on a trip to the museum? Ah, yes... how did that end again? I wonder..." he asked, with a patronizing tone.

Lillian nodded to Heather, smiling back warmly. Once she'd completed her calls, she slipped her phone back into her purse to wait until either the principal sent them on their way or others started showing up.

She still didn't look the least bit bothered by Lawrence's speech. If anything, she looked perfectly content to just let him keep talking.

"If this group is unaware that I don't fully trust their activities, then they've obviously ignored my repeated warnings as I've feared they have been. It's good to know that you think they're doing alright, though." He shrugged his shoulders, again passing off Lawrence's accusations as something completely ridiculous and humorously uncalled to him. "Maybe next time instead of wildly tying together bad coincidences, you should pay attention to how well all of you seem to attract trouble, and, of course, how well all of you seem to attract people like yourselves. I'd say you're in danger of turning me into your red herring, aren't you?"

Regardless of how knowledgeable he might have been about anything, Oscar felt it best to leave it at that, hoping they wouldn't be quite so dim that they wouldn't be able to understand what he was saying to them. He didn't feel like spending the time to spell out any theories to them.

Instead of continue the conversation, he stepped over to Heather and held the box out to her. "Now, you kids had best get going. I'm assuming you all know where you're going, but call me if you get lost." He leaned forward to the girl. "And make sure no one opens this before it gets to where it needs to go. It's not necessarily fragile, but it's irreplaceable and certainly worth more than half of you."

Lawrence was speechless. What had just happened? His mouth hung open in awe as he stared at the box Oscar held out to Heather.

Had he accomplished anything at all? No... it didn't seem like it. He thought that confronting Principal Ivors would make him feel a little better about how everything turned out since he assumed he would be getting answers... but all he got was blatant skirting and beating around the bush.

He sighed. What a waste of time. He looked at Ezra with a frustrated and disappointed expression, then quickly turned to Lilly with the same expression on his face.

Maybe it was time for him to let this go. It didn't seem to be going anywhere. With another reluctant sigh, he nodded. "We will be sure to get it to its destination..." he muttered, without emotion or the slightest bit of interest.

Ezra wasn't quite sure what to make of Oscar's response either. Sure, Oscar wasn't the villain here but he wasn't helping things, either. And what did "people like yourselves" mean? It all rubbed him the wrong way. Still, if Oscar was determined not to give it much more thought, Ezra didn't want to spend much more of the evening wondering what he'd meant. He wasn't going to drop his grudge against the principal, but right now Lawrence's frustrated look in his direction was more interesting. Ezra'd caught the frustration in it and felt it mirrored in his own deep frown, but was already thinking back to the other times Lawrence had looked in his direction with unreadable, downright odd expressions. Stared, even. What exactly was he expecting? Everything about the blond confused him.

Seeing that they were about to head out, he moved closer to Oscar, Heather and the box passing between them. In the process he approached Lawrence, and couldn't help but throw a careful glance back at Lillian. She'd seemed content enough to watch earlier, but Ezra didn't want her to think he was going in for round two of antagonizing her boyfriend. He nodded to Heather as he neared and finally settled near Lawrence's side, simply quirking a brow at the blond though it doubled as a deadpan reaction to Oscar's snide remark. "It'll be safe with us," he assured the principal with mock solemnity, raising a hand to rest over his chest.

Lawrence noticed Ezra walk towards him and stand at his side and glanced at him with a confused expression. He furrowed his brow as if thinking of something to say, but simply settled with staring awkwardly.

After a few seconds though, he could no longer simply stare awkwardly at the other boy. "What are you doing, Ezra." He muttered quietly so that only he and Ezra could hear.

Ezra pretended not to notice the staring, at least not until Lawrence spoke. He was ready to talk again? Ezra supposed he was... he no longer seemed overwhelmed over the incident from earlier and there wasn't that warning, strained quality in his voice like before.

"We're leaving aren't we?" he returned in a similarly low tone. "But, uh. You keep looking over, and I keep thinking you wanna talk? So what is it?" Fully prepared to have been told he was reading the blond's alien body language the wrong way, he finally turned his gaze towards Lawrence with an inquiring expression.
