Shortly after his room mate had left, Ezra was dragging himself out of bed purposefully. Unlike Lawrence he'd been out like a log and gotten a full night's dreamless sleep. It didn't make him feel any more well-rested, and it was only due to luck that he blearily spotted the lonely fountain pen left behind on Lawrence's desk. Ezra didn't know the blond very well, but he knew his mannerisms and that he never went anywhere without two things - his pocketbook and that pen. Ezra had tucked it into his hoodie pocket just in case he'd miss it at the meeting. Despite how awkwardly they'd left things hanging between them, Ezra felt certain Lawrence would show, somehow. Not that he was looking forward to seeing him there, but he would deal with it.

The expression he was wearing as he entered the attic was hard to read, but he managed a small smile and nod upon seeing Lillian, not wanting to interrupt the conversation. His eyes slid over Lawrence and towards Lester, and he made his way over to the shorter boy to wait for the others. Like Lilly, he felt that something was amiss.

Lester looked up at Ezra as he came to stand by him. He blinked up at him, smiled a little, and went back to looking out the window.

"Hello Ezra," he whispered. He was relieved to know that he was okay. He wasn't know what he was expecting, but after what someone had said in the library, he couldn't shake the feeling that something bad might happen.

Lawrence turned around, noticing now that Ezra had joined them. He thought it was a little strange, since he had only just joined them himself. Maybe Ezra was just waiting for him to leave? He looked from Ezra to Lester. Since Ezra popped in, Lester seemed to be talking again... that was a little odd... but he shifted his gaze back to Lilly nonetheless.

"I see," Lillian replied, smiling back. She paused to nod a greeting to Ezra. "Did you have any luck finding what you were looking for?"

She glanced at Lester again and for a second, her smile looked strained. He was talking to Ezra now so that couldn't be it. Had she done something to offend Lester? She had been really busy lately and she'd wanted to give him space to work through things at his own pace, but she hadn't meant anything by it...

"Oh, I did, actually, I managed to get caught up pretty well." Her tone sounded slightly nervous.

"Catching up is good~," he piped in, catching something about Lilly and doing her homework. "I should probably do mine soon too..."

And he was back looking out the window. Oh look, bird.

That quiet reply didn't exactly ease his worries, but Ezra settled for leaning against the wall nearby. Lester seemed like he wanted to be left alone, and he would respect that. Maybe after the meeting, they'd be able to talk. Sighing, he settled down to wait.

Lawrence definitely noticed it now. Something was wrong. Lilly's tone had changed, and he noticed her glance at Lester. Lester had responded, but it just seemed like he slipped something in so as to not look odd... and then there was Ezra, who didn't seem to be saying anything at all.

"Not, erm, exactly," he began. He wasn't really looking for anything to begin with, after all... "But I'm glad that you were able to catch up on your homework." He paused a few moments, wondering if he should ask, and decided he should.

"Is something wrong?"

At Lester's comment, she seemed to relax a little, her smile returning to mostly normal though a slight residual edge of anxiety remained.

"Um, no, I don't think so. I guess I just got overwhelmed for a moment there. Lots of changes, you know?" She smiled to let him know that by no means at all did she consider that a bad thing. She stood up suddenly. "Would you helping me with something, Lawrence?" she asked.

Lawrence wasn't sure about Lilly's answer... but he decided to accept it nonetheless, with a glance at Lester and Ezra. He nodded. "What do you need?"

"I bought a walkie headset for everyone," she began, setting her notebook and pen down on the chair she'd been sitting in. "The ones like security guards wear?" To emphasize her point, she picked up one of the headsets. "There are ten for us and ten for our friends in 1934. I was just about to start putting them in the mailboxes. If you could help me with that, I would greatly appreciate it."

[OOC: This is what she bought. They've all been taken out of their original packaging so they're just loose in the box she brought.]

Lynne muffled a yawn as she made her way up the attic steps. While she hadn't stayed up too late the previous night she was used to almost hibernating on weekend mornings. Still, she put off having to get out of bed and getting ready as long as she could, thankful for once that her room was on the upper floors...

"Hey," she said with a small smile as she entered, taking note of the people there. She felt a small stab of discomfort when she saw Lawrence there too but brushed it aside as she settled down.

The mailboxes... how strange that the day after he starts his investigation he'll actually have to start using them. He would have been skeptical had Evie not shown him that objects can indeed transcend time, and had Lynne not told him of her experiment with the spider. He scratched his head, staring at the mailboxes and then at the box of headsets. How exactly would he go about doing this?

He shrugged and decided to wing it. If he was doing it wrong, someone would tell him, right? Then again... after he took a look around the room... maybe they wouldn't. The headsets looked rather expensive, so he decided to place one in each box at random, to lessen the chance of them being damaged somehow. When he had reached ten, he closed the last box and walked back over to Lilly.

"I'm done," he said with a smile, taking a small glance at Lynne.

Lillian had returned to her note writing as soon as Lawrence had set about his task. She'd just finished her note and was tearing it out of the notebook when Lawrence came back. She smiled.

"Thank you." Her eyes met Lawrence's a moment and lingered before she paused to wave at Lynne. "Um, would you mind putting this in one of the boxes, too?" She held out the note.

Lawrence took the note from Lilly almost immediately. "Of course," he said, with a smile; walking over to the boxes and placing the note in the last one he'd closed. This behavior may have seemed odd to everyone else, but for some reason he didn't find it odd at all.

Lillian watched Lawrence go almost tenderly before suddenly flushing and staring at a spot on the floor. It must have been a really fascinating spot because she seemed utterly transfixed. However, she was smiling.

After he was done with his task, Lawrence returned to Lilly and noticed her flushed look. He also flushed noticeably and stared at the floor, not sure of what to say next. The two of them must have looked quite strange to everyone else.
