There was, Amalia thought wearily, a reason why people normally wore a faceguard when they played this game. Not that a rubber ball hurt too much on its own, but a rubber ball hurtling at you from across the field, followed by three or four lacrosse sticks trying to snag it-- that hurt ( ... )

It was hard to tell who was who on a field clustered with ladies all clad in similar gear. All Anthony knew about Amalia was that she was a persona user, that she played sports (or lacrosse, as he did do a bit of research beforehand), and that he might have seen her for a total of five minutes at the museum event. Most importantly, he knew that she would be a good source to practice his persona on because she was involved in things where she actively got herself hurt. For that, Anthony could smile and lean back comfortably -- or as comfortably as a guy could get on the bleachers -- as she exerted herself on the field ( ... )

"Yeah, defense needs to stop clumping together..." Amalia was just as quick to nod her agreement as she was to smile, rocking back on her heels as she peered at Anthony. "We just all really get into trying to steal the ball, but get a big group fighting together, and the rest of the field's basically unguarded, except for the goal. We'll have to work on that." She'd bring it up to the captain, anyway. Ama didn't possess the authority to boss the team around, despite how often she'd toss out pointers to the other players when she noticed that something was awry. But at least she did it cheerfully, instead of demanding change. Competitive though she was, she'd never once forgotten that sports were supposed to be fun.

The Persona stuff, she still wasn't sold on, but it looked like she and the others would be stuck for it anyway. She didn't want to imagine the kind of trouble the police would have had with the stinky blob monster from the museum, without being able to summon element-spouting things to beat it up ( ... )

Anthony did smile a little at how agreeable the girl was to his critique. It was a sort of thing that left his mouth absently, and something that just as often earned him a scolding or smack upside the head. Not that he knew why people got so offended at the prospect of help, heaven forbid. Regardless of these things, it was a relief to know that this girl was a bit less prideful than the others he had come across on the whole Persona-team -- even Ama's awkward smile was contagious, though when Anthony's own lips twitched upwards to mimic the expression, it was a little more crooked ( ... )
