WHO: Millie and Locrine
WHERE: Some school hallway.
WHEN: July 23rd, after classes at some convenient time
WHY: To establish some awkward in two posts or so.
It was just another summer day, but on this particular day Locrine was a bit busier than the usual. After the events of the past few weeks and his discussion with Ophelia, he had a lot on his mind. It made accomplishing anything rather difficult, because somehow he'd always find himself mulling over the topics in his head and picking up some sort of related book in the library instead of doing his usual work. He did feel guilty, but even that guilt drifted in and out of his attention. There was only one thing that refused to have anything less than his undivided attention. The sophomore advanced english teacher had borrowed a large stack of series books from the library to be used for the bulk of the semester. That was absolutely fine. The demanding nature of the teacher that borrowed the books was intimidating, but, yes, it was fine. The more use the books in the library got the better! However, he found himself faced with the challenge of figuring out how exactly to get the books up the stairs without making use of the stairlift now that said teacher was finished with them. The janitor sort of... terrified him. So, he was not going to go ask for the stairlift key if he truly didn't need it. He had learned his lesson the first time...
There were several options in this case. He could go ask for some help in just carrying the books back up the stairs, build a pulley so that there would be no carrying, or try not to be a bother to the wood shop people or others and just carry all of the books up the stairs by himself. He predictably opted for the third option. It would take several trips, but... he needed the exercise anyway? That's exactly what he told himself. However, in a small attempt to cut down on the amount of time the project would take, he made sure to carry as many as he could.
Whenever he attempted such a thing in the past, it would always end up the same way. He would stumble and drop something if not everything he was trying to carry. Locrine had hoped for that day to be the exception, but he had only made it halfway down the hallway before he lost his balance. He managed to catch himself, but the book from the top of the stack did indeed fall.
"Oh, bother..." The tall boy frowned and shifted the stack of books around in his arms, wondering if it really was possible for him to pick up the book without dropping any of the others. This was not going to be an easy task unless he got lucky enough for someone to walk by.
