Dear John Coffee

I love you.

Probaby one of the most influential professors of all time. The man knew how to tell a story like no one else. As soon as he started with his first vocabulary word of the day (for instance, did you know that calipigious means of a shapely bottom?), everyone would be completely mesmerized.

I don't think I've ever taken such exacting notes in a class, and it wasn't because the class was hard, mind you it wasn't simple, but it was because I didn't want to miss anything this brilliant man had to say. All the little trivial knowledge that made him so interesting interwoven with the more known facts of history.
I don't think a day went by without quoting him directly in the notebook at least once.

So, before I don't have the chance to say it, I had to express these great feeling of admiration for a man who greatly influenced the way I view history, and increased my vocabulary.

If a film were made about him, I propose Eli Wallach to play the old John Coffee as the narrator of his 'quietly epic' life story.

What a great human being.
