This is the Post Script to yesterday's post, as there were several things I forgot to mention, or I just didn't feel like writing three pages at the time.
Yesterday was amazing outside. Around 2 o'clock yesterday morning a sleet storm moved in, and for about an hour your could hear tiny pieces of ice bombarding the windows, accompanied by constant thunder and lightning. The next morning when I woke up there was about 2 inches of snow on the ground, and it continued to pour the snow until sometime around midday. It was very pretty.
Jake and I went outside with my two little cousins for a snowball fight. It just went to show that I'm really out of shape for a 20 year old, but it was fun none-the-less. Jake hit me in the face with a chunk of ice, so now I have swollen lower lip with a cut around the underside, but surprisingly it doesn't hurt too bad.
Afterwards we came in and I made some coffee and hot chocolate. Probably the greatest cup of hot chocolate ever. I heated up milk in a teapot on the stove, and poured it over the chocolate powder, and mixed in chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, and marshmallows. Then watched Terminator 3, because for some reason I've been obsessed with the Terminator movies for the past week or so. T2 is a flawless movie.
Another important note on the current state of affairs in my life is that a couple of days before coming home, I signed a 12-month lease for an apartment. My official move in day is April 21, but I won't be living there until around May 3. I'm moving in with Morgan and her roomate, and I'm very excited to finally have a place that is really mine. Dorms are convenient with their location, but I'm really just tired living in a cubicle not much larger than the one I work in. Having a place for the summer also means I can work full time at Perot, and hopefully make a lot of headway into my knowledge of programming.
My knowledge of programming is actually a curious thing to me at the moment. I'm not sure how much I know or how much I understand, or if I'm ahead of everyone else or behind everyone else, or just where I should be. I make great grades on my programs in class, but I feel like I still know very little about what I'm doing. It seems like every other CS major has been writing programs since the sixth grade. But I am very curious about learning more, so I think that's a good sign. I'd like to design a web page so I can practice some scripting languages, but I can't decide on a subject for a site.
In other news, I made a sig for the dustloop.com forums, only to realize they have images disabled. -_-
