Originally he said that wasn't much room under our floorboards, so the job would take 5 days. Sadly he didn't note this on the quote. We accepted the quote. We then did some work around the house to make it easier, which worked. In just over 2 days he'd finished the work. For some reason we expected that he'd charge us less, because we'd gone above and beyond what he expected and because the job had taken less than half the time.
Invoice arrives. For the full amount.
I know we accepted the quote, but it was on his advice; that it would take x number of days and that it would be a difficult job. Feels like he lied, or at least mislead us and then he hasn't even acknowledged that the job was much easier than it should have been.
Hence the title of this post. We're paying the full amount.
The only question is whether I put in a snotty note, saying how disappointed we are. Either way we're not using him again.
