Adelaide 0.9.11.65
St.Kilda 2.7.9.69
at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night
St.Kilda are pre-season premiers.
It took three successive heart-stoppers to get there after a comfortable dismissal of Richmond in the opening match, but as always in the pre-season, the focus is developing the players, and this year has been one of the more promising pre-seasons in memory.
Younger players like Armitage and Geary impressed at times, while the Clarkes, the Gardiners, Schneider and King, amongst others, showed that the 2008 Saints outfit may boast far more depth than in recent times.
A new fitness head in David Misson has the supporters very happy also - many believing injuries and the subsequent lack of depth exposed having cost the Saints at least one premiership this decade. Perhaps both pieces of those puzzle have been solved.
But for now, and until we meet the Swans on Saturday week, Saints supporters can dream of better things to come after their brave win last Saturday night.
