I don't like to be subjective doing this kind of thing. But St.Kilda "just plain sucked" on Thursday night. Michael Rischitelli and Justin Sherman demonstrated the difference between the "gearing towards" and "this is now" periods of teams of rebuild. The Lions showed they are definitely the former, with an impressive crop of youngsters completely outplaying the Saints all night.
It was pretty boring, and Channel 7 didn't even show the game live.
The Saints take on the Bulldogs on Saturday night at Telstra Dome in what should be cracker. It will be their first game this season with all three co-captains (Nick Riewoldt has not played this season, and Luke Ball missed Thursday's match). The loss of Max Hudghton will provide some headaches for the selectors and coaching staff in formulating a backline that will be subject to the Dogs'
