Sarah and I should not be allowed to RP.
Sarah and I should not be allowed to troll tumblr for random AU ideas.
Sarah and I should not be shipping Jazz and Devin as hard as we are.
And yet...
(A scene from our college!AU)
Eight in the morning was way too early for class.
Unfortunately for Devin, he had no choice but to take all of the stupid early classes. As a transfer, those early morning classes were the only ones left. He just hoped his new professors had lenient attendance policies. Maybe then he’d be able to get his work done and get some sleep.
Seeing the full classroom as he walked in, however, made it quite obvious that this wasn’t one of the more lenient professors. There weren’t many seats open, and the one he managed to find, a familiar body sat next to it, a can of Monster Blue and a large coffee cup sitting at the corners of his desk.
Devin blinked, looking down at his own cup of coffee. He glanced at his neighbor, trying to place why the boy looked so familiar. Blue eyes turned to him, bleary and unfocused as thin hands reached for the Monster.
“Fuck this class,” the boy murmured, the signature pop of a metal can punctuating his words. His voice was quiet and filled with anger. “Fuck my roommate,” he continued, lifting the lid up to his cup of coffee. He then paused, glancing at Devin again, his eyes focusing somewhat. “Actually, don’t fuck my roommate. He’s a dick.”
Devin blinked again, the pieces clicking into place as his mind caught up with the boy’s words. “Jazz, right?” he asked. Jazz nodded, his blond hair falling into his eyes as he did so. “Don’t worry. Wouldn’t fuck your roommate -- he’s not my type.”
Jazz snorted at that. “Tell him that,” he grumbled, his words barely intelligible now as he picked his Monster back up. “Wait, no, don’t tell him that. He’ll take it as a fucking challenge.”
Devin didn’t know what to say to that, and instead looked away from Jazz to focus his attention back towards the front of the classroom. Except there was nothing to see there: more students, each just as bleary eyed as the last, aside from the one or two who were true morning people. They sat in a group, chatting animatedly.
When he turned back to Jazz, though, his eyes widened in horror. Jazz had tipped his can of Monster into his cup of coffee, blue eyes focused on the clear stream of liquid. Once satisfied, Jazz settled the can back down on the opposite corner of his desk and placed his lid back on top of his coffee cup.
“Yolo,” he muttered as he lifted the unholy mixture to his lips, guzzling down the whole thing with almost practiced ease.
