Seize the Day - NaNoWriMo Attempt - Chapter 2

So my NaNo project? Completely rewriting the Tomorrow Trilogy so that it's no longer a trilogy and mostly focuses on Jazz and Savin's story, in a tighter, more abridged sense. I'm sticking with the title Seize the Day for now, because it still fits a lot of the "theme" that seems to be present in the book. Yay NaNoWriMo!

Why do I get the feeling Jazz's conversation with his dad is not going to be pleasant?

I also couldn't help being amused by Alexandra's referring to Mitchel as "kind of a jerk." The language was just so...mild compared to what I know of some of Mitchel's behavior.

Poor Jazz, he doesn't have it easy, does he?

Somehow, this scene reminded me a little of Xan, who has somewhat similar "I don't want this life" issues. Now I'm imagining them in a "reluctant royalty" fictional-character support group or at least having a chat about it. Because what I need right now is more silly fanfic ideas -- I still have to write the one where teen!Jazz and Gemma fail to explain the appeal of their own gender to the other (probably while stuck in a closet because my brain is silly). And I still haven't done the idea I had about Savin in med school having to do a psych rotation and ending up being Devin's psych. That'd be a difficult assignment even for someone who did have an aptitude for psychiatry! If I recall correctly, psychiatry was NOT Savin's ( ... )

It's actually a little more pleasant than I thought it would be -- but that might be because Jazz cut it a little short. :)

Alexandra doesn't know the half of it, probably. Just that Mitchel is well...Mitchel. xD

Not really, lol.

I guess there was a lot of similarity between Jazz and Xan, here. Except there's no maybe he'll be the leader if something happens to his father -- he's definitely next in line for the throne. I think the fact that he knows it's a certainty that he'd one day end up Emperor is why he doesn't quiiiite run away from it all like Xan does, though.

And omg, Savin's psych rotation. With Devin as his patient? That would end SO BADLY.
