Devin's line about Calla having a brain "unlike some of the people living in this house" gets me every time. Also, his feelings about how she looks in the picture are dead-on. He knows enough about Harvest Ball or at least their culture overall to know why she looks scared.
Devin totally spacing out while staring at Calla? Perfect. Him then telling her to come upstairs because he has something to show her? Omfgggggg, dying. Could he possibly be any (unintentionally) creepier? I love it.
You did a great job capturing how I think Devin canonly feels about Calla at this point in the timeline (if I ever manage to rewrite it), minus the sexual parts (which are, sadly, going to have to continue living only in subtext and my headcanon). :)
And damn, Calla. That was a mean as hell prank to pull (not that I don't think she has it in her). How did she not know that was going to lead to emo!tearz? (Answer: because she still half-expects Devin to act like other dudes she's known back home.)

I think she only pulled it because he was so concerned about the possibility of it not working and them losing her forever. I think she maybe kinda expected the emo!tears. Maybe. That was still a mean trick and I love it. xD
