Ok, so it won't come to any surprise to anyone that I was into comics when I was younger. And it prob. won't come as much shock that sometimes I'm still into them.
^-^
Normally I don't talk about it because eh.. it's not everybody's cup of tea. But I just finished up reading the Series American Virgin. The ending was NOTHING what I expected. It was an odd read. I'm not a religious person, and er. well I'll try not to expose to much but here is the jist...
Adam is a youth minister who's preaching to save yourself till marriage. He has a Girlfriend, who is in Africa as a missionary. While in Africa shortly before she's to return to the US, she gets her head cut off by terrorists. Adam, tramatised goes to retrieve her body and goes though some issues dealing with the loss, questioning everything and confronting his GF's killer. So on and so forth. He's later visited and "talks to god" though visions of his dead GF and moves forward to find his one true love (aww) and also deal with his conflicts of faith and how he ends up "trimming" out parts of his belief system and what have you. The ending though.. I didn't see that happening. I found it kinda funny. I got a good laugh out of it but I'm a sick twisted freak. What can I say? Hee..
It was a good read. But I'd comment to read the trade paper backs because the single issues would be WAY to annoying to read.
