Dear Tuan,

I heard from your Uncle only a few days ago by telegram. He asked me to pass something on, and I will honor his wish, but I will get to that in a moment, as his other news concerning you, my old friend, demands more urgent inquiry....

I am gladdened to hear that your term of employ in that sweat-shop of a jewelery store is finally over, and that you are moving on to one that properly appreciates and rewards your skills. I do hope that your increased leisure time will allow for you to visit us more frequently. Your godson often asks about you, and we endeavor to assure him that you will visit again soon.

It is also good to hear you health is still good. I have unfortunately been partaking too much of the occasional pastry and have put on more stone than I am comfortable with. Perhaps we should arrange a time to meet and engage in some of the lawn-games we played long ago? I would relish the opportunity to bat a few wickets with you once again....

Enclosed you will find a small bottle of fine plum wine from the eastern islands, where some of my colleagues are now establishing business relations with.

Oh, and your uncle asked me to tell you..... P-KP4.

Your old friend,
H. Phoenix.

I shall endeavour to visit My godson and your fine family as soon as i am able.

While my pitching arm is not as limber as it years ago, a chance to play a few wickets would be lovely.

I must inform you, however, that my Uncle has of late been cooresponding with an American named P.Morphy who was introduced to him by His Grace at the Opera House. He was spending some of his leave in Paris fall of '58.

Do let him know I replied Kk-Kb3
