Anne- I think that i just need to take the time to vent about things right now. #1: you said that you ordered a bunch of stuff from firefighter.com which im really hoping is not for you because you are neither a firefighter or an emt and if you start walking around with shirts on with qualifactions that you are not people are going to start to get really annoyed (yes i am speaking from expirience). I didnt have one emt shirt until christmas when i had been out of class for almost 6 months because i didnt feel that that was right at all. If you start to wear and EMT shirt i think i might go crazy because you have not been through the grueling 5 week class, those 135 hours of nonstop torture and studying day in and day out. Im hoping that you just bought fire dpmt shirts that say Baghdad Fire and stuff cuz you are not going to have many ppl happy with you if you have firefighter or EMT written on any of these shirts. #2 What makes you feel that you are any more qualified than any of the firefighters or emts on that swift water rescue call...to make you feel that you were of some importance to anyone on that call? Just fyi..even if you had gone on that call, you wouldnt have done anything that is why i dont ride the engine because i am not a certified firefighter and i really cannot help anyone when i am on that piece of equipment. In order for you to have actually done anything on that call you would have had to have been a certified swift water rescue tech like Middle River Rescue not a life guard cuz i think a pool is a little bit different then rescuing someone from a resevoir. There I think I am done. I am sorry but i needed to get that off of my chest. It is simply my opinion.
1) i know enough not to go off and buy firefighter or emt t-shirts when I'm neither of the two... and if you'd like to know, i ordered 1 t-shirt and a necklace charm and they're my birthday presents. 2) notice the large "HAH!" written and you'll realize that I know I shouldn't have been on that call... it's called sarcasm, sweetheart. 3) you're not sorry, so don't lie. you're probably pretty proud of what you wrote. i know i 'drive you up the wall' and that you never want to have to talk to me (etc, etc, etc) but, for the sake of common deciency, tell me off to my face, not through livejournal.
Anne. Actually i really am sorry i just get a little defensive when people start to talk about swift water rescues and the resivior cuz i know a guy whos best friend died in his arms because he couldnt save him from the rushing water. I am sorry i took it out on you and i didnt realize that you were kidding not that you should kid about that. You really have to watch what you say in a fire department because the shit some people see is not good. I still get uptight when people say "i just wanna kill myself". It hurts deep inside cuz people never really completely heel from those expiriences.
