Let me start out by saying that I'm a very easy-going person. It's rather difficult to offend me ( Read more... )

I'm someone that doesn't make fun of people and their believes, I always let them have their own opinion and I have mine very strongly about things. But don't blame Brennan/Emily, she's not the one that asks for this to be said, Emily is very strong willed and will accept everyone's believe for what they are.

I myself have only recently said I'm going to stop watching it because 6 years of these two characters not getting together while they should, I can't stand it anymore.

I find your opinion is really very strong and you should stick by it, but don't stop watching it because you think it's what Emily would say or what the creators might say; Yes there are people out there that think that way and even I am offended by it and I'm not really atheist but not religious either, but I am still offended because I do think their is something out there that we can't see. But that's their opinion like you have yours and I have mine, but it can still be very painful to hear these things.

I hope it will get better for you, I know the show will loose one of it's most trusted viewers

Oh, I don't blame Emily at all! I adore me some Emily Deschanel on so many levels LOL I do, however, feel that the writers crossed a line, and unfortunately, given my beliefs and my personal emotional structure, that's not a line that can be uncrossed with me. Some people can brush it off or whatever, but I'm just not like that.

And yeah, it can be painful. I think, like I hinted at in an above comment, it's especially painful for me because I've had a friend who did have that opinion, and in fact, once told me directly, that, in her opinion, anyone who didn't believe in evolution was a moron. So to have that personal experience, and then to have that opinion shoved back in my face like it was on Bones, it's just too much.

I understand completely, it would be very painful and to have it spoken out in public for millions to see that can be the last drop in the bucket. I hope you have many friends that truly believe in what you believe, because going through life alone in those things can be twice as hard. I myself have to go through a family that loves meat and I'm a vegetarian, it's not easy but I accept for who they are and their beliefs, but they don't accept mine =(.

I can top that! LOL I'm a vegetarian in a family of farmers/ranchers living in a tourist town where hunting/fishing is the attraction LOL Although I did recently find out that the bartender at the motel is a vegetarian, too... Never met him, tho LOL
