no sleep til...
So I got back yesterday from my long weekend in Brooklyn. It was amazing as always to see Sarah!To talk to laugh and just to be understood. It was great to get out of Buffalo for a bit too. I got a ride down with Kristens friends. Its a long trip to make with 5 people in a neon.(but worth it) Friday was spent in the car then we stayed in talked and rested.
I was nervous about meeting Dave *sarahs boyfriend* but we got along really well. I gave him hank the friendship platypus and everything went swimmingly. I mean I was happy before knowing she had someone there for her but now I feel even better after meeting them and seeing them together. I feel like they are both really sensitive creative people that will grow together and bring out the best in one another. I was really relieved that we all got along so well... Princess diaries 2= <3
City= good food
-pesto on pasta and grilled cheese!
-Red bamboo= veg philly cheese steak and tempura!
-cookies, bagels, pizza *shut up boyfriend i do eat other stuff. I ate a damn tangerine too!
etc.
I didnt shop that much. I got some stuff for jen and some veg treats for chase and a few things at pearl river market hehe. But over all I was good... I even resisted the scarf of my dreams at urban because i felt dumb paying 25 for a piece of fabric. *even though it was heavenly*I went to go stare at it online but alas it is only in the stores. its better this way I suppose.
It helped however because i got pretty hand me downs from sarah. Yay for free pretties!
we went to the Gates in central park
that is what it looks like... not impressed? we werent really either. I understand the concept of art in public on a large scale and the feeling of interior space out in nature but i just wasnt feeling it for the most part. I was expecting the fabric to be more billowy instead the fabric and structures kind of reminded me of voting booths only less turquoise. Oh well it was fun walking around the park in the sunshine with Sarah and Dave and lots of dogs and evil children in blue coats.
I talked to sarah and Dave a lot about design and portfolio and industry... etc all that scary stuff. It made me feel better to see/hear about people who have gone before me and know how intimidating it all is... I am feeling better about it, and underneath it all I know design is what i am suppose to do. I just have to get started... There is lots more to my visit that i want to remember but my hands are cold so i will continue later.

Then Chase came over with flowers and card(s) in hand. As well as a cd art for a wonderful mix he made me. It is 8 months for us today, and I am entirely happy. As it turns out I think he really understands me more than I give him credit for. shhh don't tell.
He is going to portland this weekend. I am happy he will see family, friends and the city he loves. I just hope its not too hard for him to come back here. Either way I will be here waiting.
I am going to go to cortland for the weekend and see my rents, and do laundry.
Well then off to read.
