Rather than packing and going to bed early I have decide to stay up all night instead. I'm really hoping that the metro starts running at 4:30 like they say it does. All in all this traveling alone thing was quite nice. I met some great people, saw some cool things, got a little tan, and ate a fair amount of gelati. I love gelati. Also, I suppose since it was Tanya who told me to read Madame Bovary I assumed that it would end sort of happily. Tanya's recommendations have always had nice endings in the past. So I was quite surprised by the ending. But it was very good. Finally a random fact about the history of ice cream. Alexander the Great used to treat all of his men to a drink of chipped ice mixed with a type of lemonade before every battle. Even when he was in India. They sent men up the mountains to bring back blocks of ice. Alexander believed that the drink sharpened their senses. The end.
