Ah - there it was, Shizuo thought to himself. The expected attack - the throwing of his strength in his face. Indeed, most people were scared of him, especially now that he had succeeded in murdering someone. Most people avoided him, out of fear. And wasn't he like an animal? More than an animal - a monster. Izaya was right.
And apparently disappearing. Maybe emotions were the key. Wouldn't that be funny?
Shizuo could have appreciated that point, but Izaya brought up his brother - an Achilles heel as far as Shizuo was concerned. He visibly flinched at that, because it was true. But then - it had been Izaya's fault that his brother became distanced. Izaya made him lose his job, because Izaya had framed him. Before that, he and his brother had been fairly close. His brother hadn't seen him as a monster. Now that he had actually committed murder -
Behind his closed door, as Shizuo slipped out of his wet clothes and into drier ones, he thought of his brother. There was no way that he'd contact him now. Undoubtedly, he would have heard the news by now. His opinion further colored by the feud that existed between Shizuo and Izaya.
Finally dry, Shizuo sat on his bed and put his head in his hands. Izaya hated him. Well, he hated Izaya, too. That's what he needed to remember. Hatred, not regret.
Izaya had cost him his brother. Izaya had ruined everything. This became his focus. He just had to remember.
Kicking his wet clothes into a corner, Shizuo emerged from the bedroom. He didn't quite see Izaya, but he didn't look for the informant, either. He yelled out, "Mention my brother again, and I'll find a way to exorcise you with my fists!" It may have been an empty threat, but it made him feel better, as though he could reclaim a bit of normalcy despite their situation.
Outside, he could hear the far-off cry of Celty's motocycle. He hoped they'd have some answers. Or at the very least, that they could turn Izaya solid so he could chuck a deserved chair at him.
It was in the tight, concealment of the walls that Izaya got an idea. It was a little cruel but Shizuo deserved it at this point. He kept an eye on Shizuo but didn't bother to respond. Instead, he patiently waited. It actually felt solid in the walls. Something he didn't mind too much.
Then there was the screech of that bike and Izaya felt that giddy sensation bubble up in his stomach. The feeling he got whenever he got to play around with someone. He could only hope that Celty wouldn't be able to feel him there. Would she? Either way, it didn't matter. He could exist within her sensation but he didn't need to make any direct appearances.
When they arrived, there was a distinct knock at the door that lasted all of two seconds before the door swung open and a trembling Shinra burst in. At first, Izaya thought that Shinra may have been deeply disturbed by the information.
But of course, Shinra wasn't.
There was a mile wide smile on his face. The type of smile that Izaya recognized whenever Shinra heard of some medical oddity that he could play around with. The sheer excitement and determination as he ran into the room.
"Could it be? Is Izaya really back from the dead? Izaya! Izaaaaya!" called out Shinra, already looking back and forth and damn near all over the stretch of the apartment. Izaya almost wanted to step out just to startle Shinra but he remained in the wall, silent and watching.
It was as though he were alive all over again.
In behind Shinra stepped Celty, far more composed than her eccentric lover. She seemed to be looking around just as much though, but then she focused on Shizuo. Even if she didn't have a face, Izaya could've sworn he could read a concerned expression about the way she stared at Shizuo. Expectant of something.
[OOC: Sorry for the shortness but I was wondering whether or not Celty would be able to sense Izaya or not at all. Do you have any ideas on that or...? Also I'm assuming that we can just share playing all secondary characters and what not. If that's okay with you of course :] ]

Just like he could, before.
