I am not sure how many of you are piano players. I have reached a point where I would like some new music to work on. I have music that I enjoy, and that I could work on, but it does not satisfy my current desires. Right now, what I want is music that makes me feel. You must know the music from Amelie. That piano music makes one feel rather melancholy. And do you know The Piano? I know two songs from that, and they make me feel rather melancholy, as well. So, I know songs that make me feel melancholy. But I would like music that makes me feel happy, and I would like music to play when I am angry, or simply contemplative. I want music that I can play when I am feeling something, an outlet for expression. Do you know anything? It shouldn't be ridiculously hard. I am no virtuoso.
I know you play piano, Liz, and I am wondering just what music you play. We should compare notes sometime. Do you like memorizing your music? I love memorizing it--it feels more like an embodiment of me, if I can just sit down and play, and I don't have to worry about sheet music. The downfall of this is that I become too dependent on looking at the keys and my fingers. Still, it is so nice to be able to just sit down and play. I wonder if I will have a piano in Europe. It seems rather doubtful, but it is possible.
