SUMMARY: Jenny asked Darcy if she still wanted some hypervodka. Darcy expressed interest in finding a saloon

The cute blonde girl had said to come to the bar, so Julian was at the bar. If there really wasn't any way out of this mess, he seriously needed a drink before he went on a freaking wagon trail. He found the perfect combination of dark corner and bar stool, and settled there.

"Hey there," Jenny said as she approached, invading his dark little space. Honestly, Julian. "Glad you could make it!"

Hey, he sees nothing wrong with this dark space. He isn't brooding.

"Hey," he said, looking up at her. "Jenny, right? You got half a wagon trail in here already."

[timedaughter]

If he isn't brooding, is he trying to look dark and mysterious? Because she'll say again-- Honestly, Julian.

"That's right. I can't take all the credit, it was a team effort. But it's good to see everyone relaxing."

Oh Jenny. Girls love this look, he's sure of it. Once he stops being irritated about this whole alternate dimension thing, he'll be at least a little more bearable.

Maybe.

"Yeah well, it's better than sitting around in a wagon waiting to get sent home when that's not gonna happen." He rolled his eyes a little, but he had whiskey that wasn't awful and Jenny was seriously friendly. That was hard for even him to ignore. "You're gonna do the wagon part, then? Already talking teamwork, it's a good start."

"Yep, seems to be the way to go." She settles in a seat across from him, nursing her drink. "Like you said, we're not going to get sent home just sitting around here, and the only direction we can go is on the trail. So," she shrugs," we may as well play the game and see if there's a prize at the end."

"Yeah, I know." He did. And Laura, who happened to be the only person he knew in this place, was going on the Trail so he was damned if he was gonna be left behind. "I just don't love being herded. So the only way to leave is on the wagons? It's too easy. And if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

But we don't got a choice, so I'm in too."

Dark and brooding, yeah, James wasn't the type to leave a guy there unless of course it was Snivellus, evening.

Julian glanced up at him. The guy wasn't wearing local western-style clothes, so Julian figured he'd been pulled here too.

That and he sounded British.

"Hey. You part of the time travelers brigade?"

"Yeah, that would be me. I'm James." He sticks out his hand in greeting.

"Have you found anything fun to do here?"

Julian shakes it. "Julian," he said, and then shrugged. "And I found the saloon, but the dancing girls haven't shown yet. One out of two's not bad."

[prongs_jamesp]

"Wait, there are dancing girls? I just thought there would bar fights." Look his education in olden times girls is severely lacking.

It's fine, James. Julian will educate you.

"Are you kidding? Of course there are, ain't you seen the movies?"

"No," James says honestly, "I haven't seen than many movies." Don't die of shock Julian.

"Then you're missing out." Julian leans back in his seat. "Where're you from, England?"
