Peggy is one of those people who has the misfortune of wandering in. With recent events and discoveries, she finds herself in need of some really strong alcohol, enough to at least dull her senses so she could keep up the facade of being entirely calm and collected about this whole ordeal.

Being told you're from the past and being brought to an entirely new dimension right after your somewhat significant other "dies" is really tiresome, believe it or not.

She really shouldn't be surprised that the saloon is filled with people, and nor does she mind. Talking to people in person would serve as a good distraction, and even an agent like herself knows how to have fun every now and then.

"Hey!" Jenny waves across the room from the bar, greeting Peggy like she's a friend she's been expecting. "Pull up a stool, drinks are on the house!"

That greeting is a bit unexpected, but not unwelcome. She gives a quick look over her shoulder to make sure the stranger isn't addressing anyone else and, finding the area behind her empty, makes her way to the bar.

"I can't say no to hospitality."

"I figured if whoever's in charge didn't give us any money, this might not cost anything, and sure enough. I'm Jenny." She holds out a hand to shake.

She shakes her hand before fully settling herself in a seat next to Jenny.

"Agent Peggy Carter." Ever since receiving that title, she's made it a point to slip that 'agent' in. Very few people can call her just Peggy. "So what you're saying is that all these drinks are free? Are you sure?"

"Absolutely. We made sure to test it thoroughly." She gestures to the empty glasses on the counter the bartender is just now getting around to clearing. "No one's tried to charge us yet, and the bartender keeps serving us even after we publicly discussed not having any money. He doesn't seem to care. I figure it's part of the whole simulation thing."

Oddly enough, Jenny doesn't seem drunk, even though a good number of those glasses were hers.

"So it's true? This place is just one big simulation? A...computer game, as some young girl went about calling it." She looks at the bartender, both intrigued and slightly disturbed.

She wouldn't say no to free drinks, though.

"Afraid so. I tested it out myself earlier. Which, well..." She tilts her head to the side thoughtfully. "It's not necessarily a bad thing. Better than really being in the past, anyway. Less to worry about in terms of paradoxes, and theoretically much easier to get out of. Time travel can be tricky, but escaping a simulation should happen eventually anyway, one way or another."

"Well, I suppose that is a bit reassuring." Nevertheless there's a hearty intake of a beer, and she makes a slight face as she exhales.

"Believe it or not, I have experience in neither." She stops herself. "Well, the idea of a simulation is not a new concept to me, it was just never something quite like this."

"No, that seems to be the case for a lot of people here. Though some of us seem to have quite a bit of experience with one or both. I wonder why that is? We weren't chosen at random, but you'd think if you were setting up a simulated trap involving time travel, you wouldn't choose people who had a lot of experience in simulations or time travel." Jenny takes a healthy sip of her whiskey, and it couldn't be clearer she's thinking out loud.

Gwen is drinking a glass of milk, having asked for something non-alcoholic. She desperately wishes she could have even just one pint of beer, but...

Well, that would be ill-advised, under the circumstances.

She notices Peggy walk in, and waves at her with a smile. Gwen's a naturally friendly person, and anyone looking a bit out of place and out of sorts is likely to get sympathy from her.

"Free seat over here, love, if you'd like," she calls

Peggy nods, smoothing out her outfit for a second as she takes a seat next to Gwen. She takes note of the milk, but doesn't think much of it, offering the stranger a slight smile.

She's not one to grin, and it's a smile smaller than most, but she does appreciate the friendliness.

"Thank you."

"You're English!" Gwen exclaims with obvious delight. Hey, Brit girls have to stick together, the more the merrier in Gwen's opinion. "Sorry, just... we Brits are a bit outnumbered here. I'm Gwen Cooper, lovely to meet you."

Gwen won't judge you for your lack of grins, Peggy, no worries! She loves all sorts.

"That noticeable, is it?" The smile remains, "I've been around enough Americans for so long I was starting to fear I would start sounding like them any day now." A joke, she's capable of them...military woman or not.

"Guess you can say I'm rather used to being outnumbered."

She appreciates the enthusiasm, though she's obviously more collected than Gwen. There's a pause as she goes to ask for a beer, figuring in 19th century America that's the easiest (and possibly only thing) to get, before turning back to Gwen.

"I'm Agent Carter. It's a pleasure to meet a fellow Brit such as yourself."

"Perish the thought," Gwen responds with a small laugh. "You were in America, then? Or..." Gwen takes in the uniform, the hair, and makes some educated guesses about time of origin. When you work for Torchwood, even time travel isn't out of the question, after all. "An American military base, at least?"

More reserved, Gwen would say. She's just a very emotionally open person, generally speaking. "I don't suppose you have the slightest idea what happened? All I know is that if you walk away from town in one direction, eventually you'll end up coming towards the town from the other direction. And that there are people here from multiple times and places, not all of them Earth."

She nods. "I was assigned to an American military organization and have hopped from base to base along with others from the group." The mug is brought to her lips as she takes a generous sip, exhaling a bit as she sets it down.

"Not a clue, which is part of the reason why I'm here." She motions to the bar. "The walking bit is a new one, though. I have not heard about that. If I am to be honest, I'm still waiting to be woken up from all this."
