So, this morning, my alarm clock went off, and I woke up. I put my contacts on and went out into the front of our house, and looked out the window. Then I FREAKED OUT, because there was a waterfall going into our underground garage. Only, it wasn't really like a waterfall, more like a river. But really, it was more like.. the top was a river, and the bottom was a lake. You know that feeling when you have a crazy bad dream? That kind of dready feeling? It was like that. So I ran into our room and woke Dane up, and we ran out and knocked on the condo owners association president's door, and she didn't answer. So we went out to the front door of the condo, and on the way, we saw the stairs leading down to the garage, half of which were underwater. So my car, and everything in our storage area, is definitely underwater. A few minutes later, the fire alarm went off and everyone came out, including Dane's brother Matt, who lives with us. Everyone came out and we showed the stairs to everyone, and they all freaked out, too. Then we realized that we were locked out. So we stayed out there while we found out whether the condo owner would be coming, who has a master key. In the first 20 minutes we were out there, the water rose two stairs. We went and stayed with our neighbor for a while, while we waited for the locksmith, since the condo guy wasn't coming. He said it would be $125, and he only accepted cash, which we didn't have on us and couldn't get without Dane's or Matt's car keys, which were in the house, since we didn't grab anything; I mean, I wasn't wearing shoes, or a bra. So we waited in our old lady neighbor's house, and it was still pouring rain. The condo owner guy did show up eventually, so we got in, and saw that neighbors around us with apartments in the basements of houses were totally flooded. Even the road in front of our house was so flooded that some of the cars out there probably don't work anymore. It's still rising. We have a little while until the water's getting into our house, but I'd say it's pretty close to the roof of the garage, so we stayed home from school today in case we need to get all our stuff out. Aaah.
