I got on livejournal to make an entry and saw Joan's general update on her life, which I thought was a pretty good idea, since I know lots of people make references to people I've never heard of, and I don't know what everyone is up to in general, so I'll make a Joan-esque entry.
So, I still live in the condo Jimmy and I moved into when we moved up here. Since most of you have met him, and since it's been almost two years, I assume you all know I'm going out with Dane, who moved in here more than a year ago. Since then, maybe a year ago, Jimmy moved out, and moved in with his boyfriend who may or may not still be married. A few months ago, Dane's brother Matt moved in. He works at pizza hut, and I never see him because he's always working or hanging out with his friends, so I don't really know him at all. Jimmy and I had a cat, Ewan, and he had a cat, Oreo, that he got from his mom. When Jimmy moved out, he took Oreo. After they were gone, Dane's mom got married and moved back to
Seattle, to a smaller house, and his step-dad decided their house was too small for three cats, so his mom said she was going to have two of the cats put to sleep if we didn't take them, so of course we took them. They started beating up on Ewan (although he's the only one with claws), and Jimmy wanted him, so I brought Ewan over to Jimmy's house in a crate. Jimmy and his boyfriend are moving into with one of our co-workers (Jimmy works at Target now, too, by the way), and somehow during the move, Ewan escaped downtown. I'm hoping he'll show up around here.
Besides going to school, I work at Target in the photo lab, like I have since I moved here. I'm majoring in psychology and doing pre-med stuff. I don't know if I want to work in addiction medicine or fertility or be a regular old doctor or something else. Dane, too, works at Target in the photo lab, and is a psychology major and pre-med, and I think he's leaning toward addiction medicine right now. We take most of the same classes. Our school doesn't start until a month from today, so I still have lots of summer left. You pretty much have to volunteer if you want to be a doctor, so we're both volunteering at the UW medical center, mostly just sitting in the back room waiting for someone to need to be pushed around in a wheelchair.
Last night Dane and I babysat the two-year-old daughter of the people he used to live with, which was pretty fun. She used to be afraid of me, I think, but she isn't anymore. Mostly we watched a lot of Dora the Explorer. I think I know four episodes by heart now. Yep
