Why this game was so great? I remember when Mortal Kombat originally came out at the arcades, I hated it, don't really know why though. After a year or two of it being out, I finally played it a bit and grew to love it, so when it was released on Super NES, I got it for Christmas that year and played it into the ground. When Mortal Kombat II came out at the arcades I spent hours upon hours at the mall playing that shit. Quarter after quarter after quarter. I don't think I've ever anticipated the release of a game as much as I've anticipated 'Mortal Monday'. Man my thumbs were killing me that day, so many half-circle forwards and half-circle backs. I mastered every character, every move, and every fatality. The game was the bomb.
