Surprise Surprise
Well its been almost a month since the last time I posted a real update so I suppose it is time again to reflect on the toil of life once again. Since I got back from that awesome trip to Louisianna.
Most of the time from June 24 - July 8 was spent at work. I worked 108 hours in that span of time resulting in my $747 paycheck. Unfotunately the federal government hates me and of course I jumped up a tax bracket meaning that $747 turned into $606 after taxes. Anyway, on July 10 I went to Parker music and bought myself a brand new Ibanez left handed acoustic guitar. It looks and sounds beautiful and I am incredibly happy with that purchase. That night we had a party at Heidi's house which kind of got out of hand and resulted in Heidi's parents being really pissed. The next day we all got up and left for our epic journey to New Braunfels, TX for our camping trip. We drove three and a half hours and arrived at River Road where it was immediately clear that the Guadalupe would not be safe for floating. Also, the place where we were staying, River Road Camp Rentals was in a bit of disarray since the sites that it usually rents out were underwater. Due to the conditions our spots were a bit off of the river and on a large bed of rocks. While Dan and Alisha bemoaned this fact for quite a while, I can honestly say I didn't notice for almost the entire trip. And for what its worth, what would we have done without the rock throwing contest?
I had a pretty awesome time on the trip despite the second and third degree sunburn I was sporting on my right leg afterwards. It was good to be able to spend some serious time with people like Burke, Heidi and Hung without having the distractions that work and daily life bring with them. Since we've gotten back I have worked everyday except for one and that type of trend will likely continue until I head on back to the state of Louisianna from August 6-8. For now I'm just kind of chilling out, learning to play lots of new songs on my guitar and hoping that this next school year is everying that I am hoping it could be. Probably not though.
I guess this is a pretty shallow update, insofar that I have told everything that has happened but very little about how i feel about everything thats going on around me, but I'm not really concerned. The more and more i think about it, the more I've convinced myself that the world is often better off without me pontificating on it.
