I spent some time today on the bench at work thinking about how to rally humanity to stop living for individuals, and instead live for the benefit of everyone.
How do you undo millions of years of instinctual self preservation.
Huuuuuuge culture change.......... Phenominal.
How can the most selfish person be convinced, repeatedly, to share the bread he made from the scratch in his garden without compensation.
Obviously everyone is an individual, so seemingly there is no one fix. But there must be one flag. One moral. One SOMETHING that we can all unite under.
Sagan proposed the exploration of space, and that might work later on down the road, but the ccultural transition will be relatively abrupt and need to see SOME payoffs immediately in order to make an acceptable transition.
