It was not the Christmas I expected...

But it was the Christmas I got.

For one, I didn't expect to get sick on Christmas Eve. It's just a cold (sore throat, cough, slight fever) but it still sucks. My grandparents and my brother and his fiancee came over for dinner which was wonderful. Digging my grandparents car out of the snow kind of sucked, though. Apparently it's easier to get into our driveway then out. Luckily there were enough of us that it was easy to push them out. My brother and his fiancee stayed the night and when I went to bed at 3:00am it was not snowing so I was happy.

When I woke up at 7:30am on Christmas morning, a good 3-4 inches of fresh snow was blanketing the ground. We opened our gifts like normal and wondered if we were going to attempt heading over to our aunt and uncle's house for Christmas breakfast (like we normally do). At about 8:00am our uncle called to tell us it was cancelled. I got very frowny when I heard this because I love our Christmas traditions and the fact that snow (which is pretty much ruining my break in so many ways) was the reason made me really sad. Apparently it made my grandma sad too. She called a little later and said she had to hold off because she was so upset by the whole thing. Our normal Christmas dinner that we have at my grandparent's house was also cancelled because of the weather. Again, I was very upset.

But I got a lot of good gifts (my brother and I are totally spoiled) and spent some quality time with my mom, brother and his fiancee. We watched the Disney holiday parade and got to see David Cook which made my morning. My brother made a really funny joke about David Archuleta when he saw him and I really wish I could remember it (something about his hair...). My mom made a really delicious breakfast on the fly and after that it was about 11:00am and I decided to take a nap. Of course me being sick, I ended up sleeping until 4:00pm, although I was on and off woken up by various "merry christmas" texts from my friends. When I woke up I had some food and then I watched a bunch of episodes of The First 48 with my mom. That show is amazing and addicting. It was a very low key Christmas and in theory it was good I didn't have to go anywhere because I was feeling really gross/sick. But also I'm sick of snow. Sarah and I are going to Shari's no matter what tomorrow because we want eggs benedict really badly. Hopefully the weather forecasters are right and it will be warming up this weekend. I would like to see my friends before I have to head back to LA.

And quick list of some of my fave gifts: personal dvd player, the dark knight dvd, photoshop, a hand mixer, various cds (including Brooke White's Songs From The Attic which I love), Britney Spears Fantasy shower gel and lotion (OMG), and various other things. Apparently a few of my presents still haven't arrived because UPS hasn't attempted our hill in a week. So yay for many days of Christmas.

Anyway, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Mine was different but I enjoyed it for what it was.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FLIST! I ♥ YOU ALL.
