i decided to take a break from the college i'm attending, mainly because i've realized two things:
1. i can't afford their classes. about $400 for EACH class, and that's not counting books.
2. i realized how much i need money and how my literature degree with a minor in philosophy isn't going to land me a job.
so, i've decided to enroll in another school where i will major in computer programming. so hopefully when i finish i can get a job i like making more money than i am now.
i'm pretty happy about my decision even though i'm not going to start until the spring. i have to take an entrance exam. yuck. the english and basic math parts are easy, but i'm worried about the algebra part. i haven't taken algebra since my freshman year in high school. needless to say, i've forgotten how to do most of it. so i'm re teaching myself algebra. i must remember some, 'cause it seems really easy now. but that doesn't mean i'm not worried. i would be so embarrassed if i had to start out in some remedial algebra class or something. the only math class required for my major is "algebra3/trigonometry(oh god help me), but if i don't score well i'll have to work myself up to that. i hate math. *sob*
i just have to keep in mind 3 things to get me through it.
1. i love working with computers
2. after i graduate, i can get a decent job
3. the classes are really cheap compared to what i'm used to.
i hope i'm making the right decision. for someone who has always hated math and focused on literature and art, this seems like a strange move for me...
and on an unrelated note: i love jack sparrow.
