so there's a new pope. whee. i'm at school in one of the computer labs and there's a tv slightly smaller than dave's here which is playing cnn. pope benedict xvi (formerly cardinal rotzinger) is now head of the catholic church.
i've never really found a religion that stuck with me. i went to church of god for five years and left with no real insights except that going to church doesn't make you a christian or even a better person. i guess i'm more inclined to look into philosophy rather than religion. religion has an odd connotation for me. whenever i think of it, i can't really picture any good that comes from it, only things like persecution and wars. it's a pessimistic viewpoint, but i've never really met anyone who has completely benefited from participating in a certain religion.
dicussions on religion also have rarely ended in the people talking remaining polite to one another unless they both agree on certain points.
