Ever look at the info page for your LJ, and look at all of your interests listed, in alphabetical order, and think, yep, thats me, that is my life, summed up by roughly 100 of my interests.
For some reason that seemed.. I dunno, profound and enlightening to me just now.
I don't have much else to report on. It is hot here in L.A. Like, record breaking heat. So hot that some candles in my room have melted a little, and today I decided to take my reading outdoors onto the roof outside my bedroom window. It was quite nice, although my breasts are a little sunburned.
I'm currently reading Norman Mailer's biography of Marilyn Monroe. It is interesting in that it isn't your run of the mill biography, rather, it analyzes the persona of an actor/actress and how she fits into that, as well as her life story. I love that Marilyn Monroe is such a puzzle to me. For someone who became such an icon, and so much larger than life, she was so fragile and so...human. I am eternally fascinated by this sort of thing. I like to think of her as a female version of Jay Gatsby, although that is a discussion for another time.
Yes, I am a nerd.
On Monday in my yoga class, the theme of our meidtation was graciousness; being grateful for the many gifts that you have been blessed with. And yes, yes I am grateful for the many great things in my life. Like, tomorrow, my day consists of: yoga, then studying french (which is a good thing, it interests me!), then studying and discussing writing. And socializing with interesint and fascinating people. And learning new things by the hour. And grooving to Bob Marley on the way to school. And sunshine on my shoulders. And knowing that someone, although he is far away, loves me as much as I love him. Yes, life is very, very good.
