A Hole to China

Perhaps you thought the cyclotron is the most impressive structure at Michigan State University. You would be wrong.
Last Friday, one of my most favorite people in the world, Pat Seidlein, and I discovered what we firmly believe to be a hole to China.
I was parked outside of the administration building on Friday. Pat and I were about to depart when he says "DO YOU SEE THAT? DO YOU SEE THAT?" I looked over to see what I can only describe as some sort of James Bond-type-situation. There was a door...a trap door...covered in grass which began to open, like a cellar door would, out of the ground. Two Asian men walked up to this thing, did not appear to press anything or otherwise activate any sort of opening device. It just opened and they walked down into it; down a set of stairs.
So, needless to say, we were quite impressed by the James Bond door. It was totally low-budget, Roger Moore-era James Bond. So, we thought and thought about what in the world this crazy trap door, in the center of campus, outside of the administration building could be.
Today, through the help of my friend Kate, we decided that the only thing this could be is in fact, a hole to China.
