FFXI Update - Been trying to get some merit points for my RDM, trying to un-gimp a little bit. Got a few in one party, put them into enfeebling skill 2, and 1 wind accuracy, then got three in another party with Milamberxx, Mylaa, Misskitty, Avienda, and Buzek. I put those 3 merit points into Enfeebling 3. So let's see.. base skill of 276.
276 (Base)
15 (AF1 body)
7 (Torque)
6 (Merits)
4 (Elite Beret)
= 308 Enfeebling Skill.
I also switched to Windurst to get Rank 8 (probably will go all the way to 10 though) for some Master Caster's Bracelets (+7 enfeebling skill I believe, which would put me at 315). The plan though, is to get 5 more enfeebling merits (and remove the Dark Magic merit I currently have) to put me at 318 enfeebling skill before the bracelets. If I could ever get a duelist chapeau I'd be at 329 (336 with bracelets acquired/active). I'm not holding my breath on the chapeau since the last time my LS did Xarcabard was in November and a couple of RDMs in the LS need it (I can think of 2 or 3 off the top of my head).
After RDM merits are done, I was looking at what merits to do for PLD... and can't really think of many. I should have mentioned in the RDM section I also need to merit HP & MP (I have lv 2 MP, and I wanna do 7 MP & 3 HP I think, I don't have FFXI running but I think the HP/MP combo = 10). That would help out my RDM a lot and also my PLD a little bit. Maybe 4HP/6MP.. who knows. My samurai is still Lv 54 but it's been a pretty hectic week at the gyms and I haven't been able to exp much. It sucks because it seems like wave after wave of people is passing me and whenever I try to search for people around my level, it's slim pickin's. Regardless I'd like to hit Lv 75 SAM next. I currently have Lv 6 hand-to-hand upgrade (288 skill) with the max being 8, but I think I'm going to pump a few merits into great katana. Or should I just go 8 h2h and 4 gkt or something like that? Decisions decisions...
In other news, my linkshell has a rack of people with Dynamis - Tavnazia access, I'd say more so than any other NA linkshell on Kujata at the moment. It's not a competition or anything and I know what I just said may lead you to believe that. It's really not, not for me anyway and I speak for myself. The issue with Dynamis-Tavnazia is the 18-person limit. Right now we have roughly 25-30 people with access to it, maybe more. We've been focusing on the CoP Dynamis areas for the past couple months (Dynamis-Buburimu, Dynamis-Valkurm & Dynamis-Qufim) and I can honestly say I can't wait to go back to the cities & northlands . The cities and northlands are typically better to us as far as AF drops & currency and I really have to question whether the new areas are worth the 1 mill hour glass & combined time of everyone that goes. It seems like each run we get less than 60 currency I'd guesstimate, and maybe 2-3 of the relic -1 gear off Nightmare mobs. We've gotten a few of the normal AF2 pieces too, including my valor leggings from Valkurm. But if you look at the -1 AF2 gear, MOST of it (NOTE: I didn't say ALL of it) include marginal improvements over the normal quality AF2 armor. Anyone else feel the same way or is it just me?
I'll write a RL update later with some more of the random shit that seems to happen to me. Tonight I went out to dinner with an old friend from high school and we reminisced about old memories, like going on a camping trip after our senior year in high school and one of her friends on said camping trip did the following:
1) lost her virginity
2) broke our mutual friend's tent
3) ruined a sleeping bag by the aftermath of the encounter
4) got an abortion the next week
5) rolled our mutual friend's truck over on the way out of the national park
Good times. Last comment for the night before I head off to sleep, or watch Red Eye trying to fall asleep (digression: Rachel McAdams is beautiful, discuss): why is that people that financially can provide for and emotionally are ready to care for a baby struggle to produce one, and people that can't provide for a baby or aren't ready are almost 100% guaranteed to succeed?
My favorite word is still "moreover."
