So I just examined my freezer stash, which is actually quite small, because pumping is a lot of work when you figure your baby will never ever need as much milk as you've made. (She's had three bottles in her whole life!) So mostly, I don't pump, I just press it out in the shower or into a towel or whatever is handy.
But recently, I decided the best way to combat my growing baby-bittersweetness (LAST BABY OMG I CRY ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!) is to donate milk to help another baby. SO I've been poking around and now have three possibilities of people who would be interested in milk. Yipes! I'd better get crackin!
Anyway, I have 23.5 ounces in there, and 15 of it is from her first week. Some of it is still colostrumy, very yellow.
There are two people who are still pregnant, one due in August, the other in October. The August girl isn't sure if she'll have supply problems again, but the October girl knows she will.
The third person is a friend of a friend with an older baby, so I don't really feel comforatable using the new milk for her when there are others who really want it. So, if I'm going to help her, I'd better start pumping, like right now!!!!
