Ben can sleep by self

Mar 16, 2008 23:09

Yes, we are totaly insane and are working on sleep learning at the same time as working on potty learning. Why? The world may never know.

And actually, it seems the sleep learning is going better than the potty learning. Which is good that he can go to sleep by himself, but a little bit of an ego hit to me, because Stephen told me that I would teach him to go potty and he'd take care of teaching him to sleep. Ha ha.

But in my defense, he's been sleeping his whole life, but the potty thing is kinda new. Not completely new, but the big boy underpants are definitely new. (Three accidents today. It could be worse)

Anyway, I'm totaly distracted. As I was saying, BEN WENT TO SLEEP BY SELF!!!! (that's how he says it) He was asleep by maybe 9:30-9:45 and didn't get out of bed nearly as many times as he has been previously. (This is like day three of sleeping by self)

Stephen is over my shoulder while I'm typing this and keeps editorializing what I'm writing. He says that if you call getting ups "accidents" then he had three last night too, and one involved the eating of chips. (Actually, that might have been the first night, when he didn't realize that he need to stay down there guarding the door. So Ben got up and had some adventures in the pantry before announcing his presence to us upstairs. Ha ha ha.) Seriously, clearly he isn't really going to bed by self perfectly on the first try, but the difference to me is that I knew he was capable of going in the potty at least once. But I didn't know he was capable of going to bed by self, at all. So it seems like a bigger deal.

Coming up: My introspection on our freeloading status and a rant about jelly bellies. Votes for which should be first will be considered.

potty-training, tired, sleep, benjamin
