Ben actually slept well last night, for the first time in a few weeks. (More on that later) He woke up at 2 a.m. and again at 7:30, but both were short, low-maintenance wakings. So, you might ask, why did I nap with him again today? And the only answer I can come up with is that I'm not getting quality sleep, no matter how much time I spend in the bed, I just don't feel rested.
My husband actually suggested that it might be time to night-wean him (again!) so that everyone can get more sleep. We just don't all fit in a double bed, especially since Ben likes to take up at least 2/3 of it for himself. If he didn't nurse at night, maybe he would be able to sleep the whole night in his own bed and we could have our space back. Of course, even that wouldn't really fix the fact that the mattress sags in the middle, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
But sometimes I like to dream about what we would do to solve our problems if we had more money. I mean, sure mostly I just want my own queen sized bed with our memory foam topper back. But wouldn't it be cool to get a brand new bed that fit EVERYONE? I mean, someday we'll have another baby and start the whole co-sleeping rigmarole over again. I was browsing around and
this nice wooden bed caught my eye. It looks a lot like the first bed I ever got (from IKEA, ha ha) but nicer. I definitely have a soft spot for natural-looking stuff. And I really miss having a headboard. I don't even know what happened to our old one.
The Web site also has
Faux Leather Beds, which kind of cracked me up. I'm not sure why you would want one of those, but hey, to each their own, right?
