I guess I owe everyone a report, since I promised, but there really isn't much. I was unhappy with the number of questions they asked, but other than that it went fine I guess. I liked being able to prepare there ... it was probably worth my $20. As far as the actual immersing, yeah, its not as beautiful and spiritual as I had hoped. I mean, it's water! All you can really think about is that its going up your nose and making sure your hair gets under and all that jazz. I did get a chance to do some personal prayers, although I kind of had to ask. Thankfully, I remembered to call
katielovesjoel beforehand to get her full first name and her mother's name.
So I guess, overall, I do owe a big thank you to
shaegirl for recommending it to me. I mean, asking questions is one thing, but at least they let me go. And they didn't have to, especially considering that I didn't give the requested 48 hours of notice. Anyway, I don't know if I'm going again to that same place ... I probably will though. I am definitely using my pills to skip a few periods between now and this summer though.
And uh, as for the evening plans, I guess I was irresistable on mikvah night, so we went ahead and followed
lawngnome25's spectacular advice. And it went fine. But we both agreed that it was only for emergency use only. We feel we don't need to routinely push our luck.
