I don't know if you've seen "Pretty Woman" but that movie basically scared me off ever going in to an expensive store, even if I liked something I saw from the outside. I was afraid I'd be judged on my lack of makeup or the spit-up stains I was never able to get out of my favorite coat. But now online shopping has made quality clothes more accessible to the average woman. After reading about the recent trouble with super-cheap products that were made in China, I'm starting to think that it might be worth it to spend some more money on quality products.
At this Web site,
Tobi.com, I found out that you can chat live with an online stylist to help you choose your best look. My stylist's name was Nicole and she was really fast and helpful. I told her I was having trouble finding jeans that fit me right, due to having a large butt and hips, but a teeny tiny waist. She recommended bootcut stretch jeans, and pointed me toward a few different types. She thought I might like
seven jeans or
1921 jeans. And I have to admit, the 1921 jeans look exactly like my favorite pair that are now three sizes too big. (It's only been a year since I splurged on them, and it's pretty frustrating that they spend most of their time in the back of my closet unless I feel like cinching a belt around my waist to hold them up.)
That brought up an interesting point, so I also asked her how I would know which jeans were right for me, considering I wouldn't be able to try them on. She said, "That's why we ask our customers to tell us what they are interested in, we pull the jeans in the back, and take exact measurements. If you are not satisfied with the jeans, you can always return it or exchange it within 30 days, as long as they are not worn, or on final sale."
That seems very fair. I'd love to get a couple of pairs, choose my favorites and send the rest back.
They also have more jeans than just the ones she recommended to me ... If you are looking for a quality pair of
paige jeans, they have a ton to choose from. Even though they probably wouldn't fit me as well as the 1921s would, I thought the Melbourne jeans were adorable.
And of course, the site has more than just jeans!
I was browsing through the
vince sweaters section and decided that I really like the short sleeve gauze top in heather gray. I am a sucker for cute sweaters ...
Oh, I almost forgot, they have men's clothes too! Check out the
diesel jacket section! I think The brown one would look excellent on my husband.

here's a random extra: I just found these cool widget meme thingies ... they're pretty fun!
