Seeing the Light

The card drawn today from the Tarot of Dreams is Judgment:

Bodies float from the earth toward a sun-like angelic being.  This image might make some think of the biblical judgment day, when the dead are supposed to rise, be judged for their deeds, and given a just reward or punishment.  The Judgment card however, is not about some external force handing us a verdict.  Rather it speaks of us waking up to truth.  It is an "aha" moment when things have become crystal clear - the abused wife who realizes she doesn't need to stay in the marriage, a middle-aged man who decides to quit his job in order to work at a lower paying job doing something he loves, or a cancer diagnosis that suddenly makes every moment in life seem beautiful.  Here in the South, we are finally beginning to see the light after a huge, terrifying storm system passed through.  Over 150 tornadoes were reported, leaving towns decimated and over 200 people dead.  We only caught the tail of the dragon this morning, experiencing nickel and quarter size hail.  Watching the aftermath on TV has really put my problems in perspective, shrinking them down to their proper size.

The card drawn from the MentorSpirit deck today is "Freedom:"

“Our freedom can be measured by the number of things we can walk away from.” ~ Vernon Howard

I don't think I can add a thing to this quote this morning; I think I'll let it speak for itself.

judgment, freedom
