Valley girls

May 20, 2007 14:40

This applies to people who have lived in the Valley. THE Valley. You know the one I mean.
Okay, skip this entry.

1. You hate the Valley. Enough to never admit you live there, and you just say you live in L.A.

2. You have hijacked at least two or three shopping carts, and not just because you needed to
carry groceries in them.

3. You've eaten at the Bob's Big Boy in North Hollywood. As a corollary, IHOP, Denny's, or Coco's
is one of your favorite places to hang out with your friends.

4. You've been to the Cobalt or Universal Ampitheatre and shudder at the thought of going to any venue past the Hollywood Bowl.

5. You attempt to show your superiority to the Inland Empire with your shouts of "818 not 909."

6. No matter how hard you try, words and phrases such as "totally," "like" and "OMIGAWD" show up a disproportionate amount in your vocabulary.

7. Your idea of a happenin' Friday night involves going to Universal Citywalk, getting some grub, stealing some candy from Sparky's, and running through the fountain. You know you love that bacteria-filled thing!

8. On a burning summer day, you'll actually travel to places like the Sherman Oaks Galleria just to get out of the terrible heat.

9. You go to your local 7-11 so much that the Sikh guy behind the counter has stopped grimacing at you, and merely stares intently at the surveillance video as you stroll around the store.

10. The 101 is a way of life.
