Snowflakes and spring

Two suggestions from me.

Last month I *finally* took a close look at snowflakes. Holy crap. They really do have six points! They all had different patterns as well. I mean seriously, HOLY CRAP this was awesome! I didn't grow up with snow, I suppose that's why it's such a big whoop to me. Though, I told someone who grew up in Illinois and she was surprised.

I suggest looking at snowflakes for their patterns. I used a black sweater to hold out in the snow. Larger-looking pieces of snow that seem to have no pattern might actually be two or more snowflakes stuck together, and those flakes are six-pointed. This was why I hadn't noticed the patterns before; I thought they were just random pieces.

In the end of February, I was on the lookout for the first spring flowers. I didn't actually see any dandelions until a couple of days ago. About a week before that, I noticed purple flowers blooming everywhere. There were *three* completely different kinds of purple flowers except the color, which was very weird. But awesome too. Yellow and purple go well together. I suggest looking for the first flowers! What kind do you get?
